Packaging Technician - Distribution Center

Performance Health is seeking a Packaging Technician to join our team in Indianapolis. As a Packaging Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate packaging operations. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining the automated packaging machinery, monitoring production processes, and ensuring the quality and timely packaging of products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong technical aptitude, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor automated packaging machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient packaging processes. Perform regular equipment setup, changeovers, and adjustments to accommodate different product sizes and packaging requirements. Collaborate with the production team and Master Wave Planner to ensure proper scheduling and sequencing of packaging tasks. Inspect packaging materials and supplies for quality and compliance with specifications. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products are packaged correctly, including verifying labels, codes, and seals. Monitor and control packaging parameters such as weight, dimensions, and labeling accuracy to meet quality standards. Address and resolve any packaging issues or deviations promptly, and escalate complex problems to the supervisor or maintenance team. Perform routine maintenance tasks on packaging machinery, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the maintenance team for timely resolution. Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime. Provide input and suggestions for process improvement and optimization to enhance packaging operations. Performs other duties as assigned Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.Previous experience in packaging operations, preferably in a high-capacity, automated distribution center. Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting automated packaging machinery (Packsize) preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers. Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance regulations related to packaging operations. Proficient in using computers and basic software applications for documentation and reporting.
