Performance Health is seeking a Manager of Global Packaging to join our team in Akron, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, sourcing, optimization, and lifecycle management of packaging solutions across the company's global product portfolio. This role provides leadership to Packaging Engineers and related technical resources while driving packaging innovation, cost optimization, supplier development, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence.The Manager serves as both a people leader and technical expert, balancing team development with direct project leadership. The role partners closely with Sourcing, Product Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Marketing, Quality, and Global Operations to ensure packaging solutions meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, cost objectives, and business growth strategies.This position also leads the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital tools, and data analytics into packaging design, sourcing, and project management processes to improve speed, quality, decision-making, and productivity.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop a global team of Packaging Engineers, contractors, and technical resourcesSet performance goals and development plans, conduct reviews, provide feedback, and support succession planningFoster accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharingAllocate resources across projects and business priorities Packaging Engineering & Product DevelopmentLead packaging development from concept through commercializationDeliver solutions that meet functional, regulatory, quality, sustainability, and cost requirementsDrive packaging standardization and optimization across product categoriesMaintain specifications, drawings, testing protocols, BOMs, and documentation supporting Design Control and Product Lifecycle ManagementPartner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to improve performance, reduce inefficiencies, and complete transportation, shelf-life, and performance validation Global Sourcing & Supplier ManagementPartner with Global Procurement and Sourcing to identify, qualify, and manage packaging suppliersLead sourcing and resourcing initiatives that improve cost, quality, risk mitigation, and supply continuityEvaluate supplier capabilities, technologies, innovation, and total landed cost to recommend sourcing strategiesSupport contract negotiations through technical evaluations and supplier performance analysisDevelop packaging sourcing plans and monitor supplier quality, delivery, cost, and innovation KPIs AI & Digital Transformation Leadership
